Independence is a priceless blessing that has restored the historical identity of our people, elevated their national pride, and opened the path to free development.

September 1, 1991, became a great turning point in the history of our Motherland. Long-awaited independence was the natural result of our people’s centuries-old aspirations for a free life and the building of a just society.

Over the past years, Uzbekistan has achieved tremendous changes in the political, economic, and spiritual spheres. State independence has paved the way for our people to take their destiny into their own hands, build a democratic rule-of-law state, and expand civic participation in public life.

Today, the idea of a “New Uzbekistan” and the process of reforms have marked a qualitatively new stage in the life of our people. The voice of the people and public opinion are gaining ever greater significance in the process of making state decisions. This is not only political or economic change, but also a great transformation in the consciousness of society.

The staff of the Center “Ijtimoiy Fikr”, especially note that thanks to independence, broad opportunities have opened for expressing the opinions, moods, and aspirations of the people. For us, it is both an honor and a responsibility to scientifically analyze the processes taking place in society through sociological research and to turn the voice of the people into the “pulse” of state policy.

Independence is the unity of society, the nation’s ownership of its destiny, and faith in the future. On this great day, we sincerely congratulate you and wish you peace, prosperity, and confidence in tomorrow.
