Public Opinion on Uzbekistan–China Cooperation and the SCO Summit is Being Studied
The Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr” has launched a special sociological survey among the citizens of our country dedicated to the visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to China and his participation in the SCO Summit.
Relations between Uzbekistan and China have reached a new stage of development in recent years. During the negotiations between the heads of state, large-scale joint projects were discussed in such areas as the establishment of an artificial intelligence center, “green” energy, transport and logistics, agriculture, tourism, education, and science. The investment portfolio has exceeded 60 billion dollars, and trade turnover continues to grow year by year, demonstrating the scope of the strategic partnership.
In these circumstances, it is extremely important to study public attitudes toward these processes, initiatives, and the foreign policy activities of the head of state, as well as how they are perceived by society. International political decisions and bilateral agreements directly affect not only intergovernmental relations but also the living standards of the population, their economic opportunities, and the overall development of the country.
The questionnaire is designed to study the level of citizens’ awareness about the summit, their attitudes toward the President’s initiatives and speeches, opinions about the significance of the summit for our country, as well as views on promising areas of effective cooperation within the SCO. In addition, respondents’ perspectives will be collected on Uzbekistan’s strategic partnership with China, negotiations between the two heads of state, cooperation with major companies, and opinions on the sectors most in need of investment and partnership.
The importance of this research lies in its ability to provide an in-depth analysis of public attitudes toward foreign policy processes. Its results will serve as a reliable basis for improving Uzbekistan’s foreign policy, determining the directions of strategic partnership, and promoting the President’s initiatives within society.
