A NEW CHAPTER ON THE WORLD CHESS STAGE — JAVOKHIR SINDAROV’S EARLY VICTORY

By scoring 9.5 points, he gained an unreachable lead over his rivals one round before the end of the tournament and earned a place in the match for the title of World Chess Champion.

The 13th-round game against the experienced Dutch grandmaster Anish Giri once again demonstrated Sindarov’s thorough preparation and stable playing style. Playing with the black pieces, he maintained his positional advantage, converted the game into a technical endgame and, after drawing the game, strengthened his overall lead. As a result, he officially secured victory in the tournament.
