Permanent Scientific and Practical Seminar

At the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr,” a roundtable discussion titled “The Role of the Mahalla within the Framework of the Presidential Address: Public Opinion and Local Practice” will be held within the framework of the permanent scientific and practical seminar “Current Issues in the Study and Formation of Public Opinion in Uzbekistan: Methods, Theory and Practice.”

The event will take place on January 23, 2026, at 14:00 in the conference hall of the “Ijtimoiy Fikr” Center. The seminar is aimed at analyzing the role of the mahalla in implementing the priority tasks outlined in the Presidential Address, based on the study of public opinion. The discussions will also cover public attitudes toward the activities of the mahalla institution, the results of sociological surveys, and practical issues arising at the local level.

The event will be attended by representatives of committees of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, civil society institutions, mahalla organizations and non-governmental non-profit organizations, mass media representatives, faculty members of higher education institutions, as well as staff members of the “Ijtimoiy Fikr” Center.

During the roundtable, presentations will be delivered on the results of sociological studies conducted within the framework of the Presidential Address, citizens’ opinions regarding the activities of mahallas, and practical experience gained through face-to-face population surveys conducted in the field. At the conclusion of the event, participants will exchange views and formulate final conclusions.

This scientific and practical discussion is aimed at providing an in-depth analysis of current issues in the field of public opinion research and at improving the functioning of the mahalla institution.
