October 15 — International Day of Rural Women!

On October 15, 2025, a solemn event dedicated to the International Day of Rural Women was held at the Tashkent State Agrarian University. The event was initiated by the Committee on Family and Women’s Affairs.

The event, held under the motto “Rural Women and Innovation: Towards New Opportunities,” aimed to showcase the scientific and innovative achievements of rural women and to support their active participation in economic, social, and cultural spheres.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Chairperson of the Committee for Family and Women, Makhkamova Zulayho Bakhriddinovna, Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Agrarian, Water Management Issues and Ecology Anvar Mirzaakhmedovich Tuychiev, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibrokhim Yolchiyevich Abdurakhmonov, Governor of Tashkent Region Zoyir Toyirovich Mirzayev, Chairman of the Republican Council of the Trade Union of Agro-Industrial Complex Workers Eshmirza Urolovich Abdulayimov, Head of the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) Representation in Uzbekistan Sherzod Nurmukhammadovich Umarov, and Head of the “Zarkent Gavhari” farm, holder of the “Active Entrepreneur” badge Gavkhar Numonovna Rizaeva, who all delivered congratulatory speeches and greetings.

The Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr” also took part in the event.

During the ceremony, special recognition was given to women working in the agricultural sector who are implementing innovative ideas and projects.

A documentary titled “Creative Rural Women” was presented, showcasing the diligence of rural women and their contribution to the development of modern agriculture.

The exhibition “Scientific and Innovative Achievements of Women Scientists” also drew great interest. It featured projects and products developed by rural women that combined science and practical experience, including new agricultural technologies and innovative solutions.

Active female farmers and women working in the agricultural sector were honored during the event. Among them were women making a significant contribution to strengthening the country’s economic potential and actively participating in public life.

Special attention was given to the role of rural women in society, their vast potential in innovation and education, and their contribution to family and community development. Participants proposed several practical measures to enhance employment opportunities for women in rural areas and to develop their skills and intellectual potential.

The event concluded with a concert by masters of arts.

The festive occasion was held in a warm and uplifting atmosphere, expressing deep respect and gratitude to rural women for their hard work, wisdom, and civic engagement.

This day became not only a recognition of the achievements of women working in rural areas but also an important step toward strengthening their role and status in society and opening new opportunities for them.
