On May 2 of this year, the team of the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion "Ijtimoiy Fikr" organized a spiritual and educational visit to the "Victory Park" memorial complex in Tashkent. The visit was dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Honor, celebrated on May 9, as well as the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory in World War II.
The main purpose of the visit was to honor the sacred memory of the war and labor front veterans who made a significant contribution to the victory over fascism, as well as military personnel and law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty during the years of independence. It also aimed to express deep respect for their sacrifices, preserve historical memory, and foster a sense of patriotism among the younger generation.
The Center’s staff laid flowers at symbolic monuments such as the "Grieving Mother" statue and the "Wall of Courage," paying tribute to the heroic compatriots who gave their lives for the Motherland. They also visited the "Glory" Museum, where they explored exhibitions highlighting the heroism of the Uzbek people during the war and on the home front, their contribution to the victory, as well as their dedication in ensuring state security and public order in the years of independence.
During the visit, the Center’s employees exchanged views on pressing issues such as patriotic education, the role of national values in modern spiritual life, and ways to encourage social engagement among youth.
This initiative is an important part of the practical activities of the "Ijtimoiy Fikr" Center, aimed at strengthening public understanding of key concepts such as social consciousness, national identity, collective memory, and socio-moral responsibility.
