The Director of the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr,” Doctor of Economics Nigina Khayrullayevna Rakhimova, took part as an expert in the television program “Muvozanat” on the topic “It Is Necessary to Study Public Opinion”.
The program broadly discussed issues related to the ongoing socio-political reforms in our country, the development of openness and a culture of dialogue between the state and society, as well as the strengthening of citizens’ active civic engagement. During the discussions, it was emphasized that the scientific study of public opinion, as well as the analysis of citizens’ attitudes and sentiments, are among the key criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of state policy.
In her speech, Nigina Khayrullayevna Rakhimova noted that public opinion serves as a bridge between the state and society. According to her, the opinions and attitudes of each citizen are the main indicators determining the effectiveness of reforms. Through scientific and systematic sociological research, state bodies can gain a deeper understanding of people’s needs and sentiments, which in turn enables the development of precise and well-targeted policy solutions.
The program also provided a detailed analysis of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s address at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. In his speech, the President stated: “New Uzbekistan advocates solidarity, open dialogue, and close partnership with all countries. We are always ready to contribute to strengthening dialogue among peoples, cultures, and civilizations, and to achieving common human goals.”
According to the results of a survey conducted by the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr” in September 2025, the majority of citizens positively evaluated the President’s address. Respondents emphasized that this speech enhanced the country’s international reputation and strengthened public confidence in the ongoing reforms.
During the discussion, Nigina Khayrullayevna Rakhimova stated: “Studying and regularly analyzing public opinion helps strengthen trust between the state and society, fosters social responsibility, and develops critical thinking among citizens.” She also emphasized: “The effectiveness of reforms should be assessed not only through numbers but also through people’s sentiments, opinions, and trust. Public opinion is a key indicator of stability and unity within society.”
The “Muvozanat” program creates an open platform for dialogue between representatives of the public and the state. This project contributes to the development of citizens’ critical and analytical thinking, raises political awareness and culture, and encourages social activity. As experts noted, systematic research of public opinion not only helps identify problems but also provides opportunities to find targeted solutions.
This discussion once again demonstrated the scientific potential and practical significance of the activities of the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr,” which are based on sociological analysis. Through the program, the ideas of respect for diversity of opinions, the culture of open dialogue, and the strengthening of mutual trust between the state and citizens were widely highlighted.
