EDUCATION SYSTEM: CITIZENS’ ASSESSMENTS, PROBLEMS AND EXPECTATIONS

The Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr” is conducting a sociological study aimed at examining the current state of the education system in Uzbekistan, identifying existing challenges, and exploring citizens’ expectations regarding its further development.

The purpose of the study is to examine public attitudes toward preschool, general secondary, and higher education, identify the key issues affecting the quality and accessibility of education, and analyze public opinion on the main areas for improving the sector.

The survey covers a wide range of issues, including the material and technical condition of educational institutions, the availability and professional competence of teaching staff, the quality of education, the creation of a safe and comfortable learning environment, conditions for children with special educational needs, the alignment of higher education with labor market requirements, students’ practical training, and graduates’ employment opportunities.

Particular attention is given to the social status and prestige of the teaching profession, measures for the social and professional support of teachers, as well as citizens’ views on the relationship between educational attainment, modern professional skills, and material welfare.

The results of the study will allow us to determine public assessment of the education system, identify the most pressing issues and needs of citizens, and generate the necessary sociological data for developing solutions aimed at the further development and improvement of the education sector.
