SPECIALISTS OF THE REPUBLICAN CENTER FOR THE STUDY OF PUBLIC OPINION “IJTIMOIY FIKR” TOOK PART IN AN INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL DISCUSSION

 

On April 4, 2026, through the cooperation of the UN Scientific Advisory Council on Legal, Psychological, and Socio-Economic Issues under the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Research Institute of Trust, Dignity, and Law, an international scientific meeting dedicated to the theme of “Youth” was held.

Analysts and specialists of the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr,” engaged in research on youth-related issues, took part in this authoritative international platform for professional dialogue.

During the meeting, leading foreign scholars delivered substantial presentations on the sociology of youth and social psychology. In particular, Yulia Albertovna Zubok, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Center for Youth Sociology at the Institute of Sociology of the Federal Center of Theoretical and Applied Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, delivered a report entitled “Youth in Russian Society: Foundations of Sociocultural Self-Regulation.”

Also, Nadezhda Mikhailovna Lebedeva, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, and Academic Supervisor of the Center for Sociocultural Research at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, presented an analytical report on “Contemporary Youth: Values, Identity, and Social Relations,” based on research findings from 2022–2025.

Alexandra Anatolyevna Shabunova, Doctor of Economic Sciences and Director of the Vologda Research Center, presented the results of regional sociological monitoring on the topic “Views of the Younger Generation on Family, Work, and a Healthy Lifestyle.”

The presentations provided an in-depth analysis of changes in the youth value system, the formation of identity, attitudes toward the institution of family, views on work and a healthy lifestyle, as well as the transformation of social behavior under the influence of the digital environment.

The participation of specialists from the “Ijtimoiy Fikr” Center in this discussion made it possible to compare national empirical data and analytical approaches accumulated in the field of public opinion research with the positions and assessments of international experts.

During the international dialogue, special emphasis was placed on the importance of studying advanced foreign research experience, applying interdisciplinary approaches in the comprehensive analysis of youth issues, and the need for regular monitoring of public opinion.

This participation is of great importance for the further strengthening of the Center’s scientific and analytical capacity, as well as for the development of scientific and practical proposals and recommendations aimed at improving the effectiveness of youth policy in our country.
