The Level of Corruption Prevalence in the Main Spheres of Public Life and Citizens’ Assessment of the Effectiveness of Combating It
Starting from April 28 of this year, the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr” launched a large-scale sociological study in our country on the topic: “The Level of Corruption Prevalence in the Main Spheres of Public Life and Citizens’ Assessment of the Effectiveness of Combating It.”
In the context of modern global development, corruption manifests itself as one of the most pressing socio-political problems, seriously affecting social stability, the effectiveness of public administration, the principles of social justice, and citizens’ trust in state institutions. Various forms of corruption not only limit the pace of economic development, but also negatively affect the legal consciousness of the population, social activity, and quality of life. From this perspective, the systematic study of public opinion is of great importance for improving anti-corruption policy, raising citizens’ legal culture, and fostering an intolerant attitude toward corruption in society.
During the survey, citizens’ attitudes toward manifestations of corruption in various spheres, the level of transparency of public and social services, forms of everyday corruption, public views on giving and receiving bribes, trust in government bodies, the effectiveness of mechanisms for reporting corruption, as well as the role of digital public services in reducing corruption will be comprehensively analyzed.
In addition, the study will examine issues related to determining the actual level of corruption prevalence in public life, identifying the most corruption-prone spheres and institutions based on public assessments, evaluating the legal consciousness and civic position of the population regarding corruption, as well as citizens’ opinions on the effectiveness of measures being implemented to combat corruption.
