At UzSWLU, a practical binary session was organized with the participation of the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion "Ijtimoiy Fikr".

 

Ravshanbek Islambayev, a specialist from the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr,” conducted a practice-oriented binary session for third-year sociology students at the Faculty of International Journalism of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University.

The session was devoted to the topic “Processing and Analysis of Sociological Data Using SPSS. Descriptive Statistics in SPSS,” within which theoretical knowledge was organically combined with practical experience. In particular, during the session, the mechanisms of data analysis based on the Center’s real sociological studies were explained step by step.

Using practical examples, the students studied such important statistical procedures in SPSS as data entry, variable creation, frequency analysis, and the calculation of mean values and variance. The experience of the “Ijtimoiy Fikr” Center enabled them to better understand the professional approach to analyzing the results of sociological research.

During the session, the students actively participated by contributing questions and analytical observations. This allowed the class to go beyond ordinary theory and approach the level of a practical laboratory.

This cooperation is important not only for developing the students’ statistical and analytical competencies, but also for preparing them for their future professional activities through familiarization with a real research environment.
