Employment, Working Conditions and Opportunities for Social Advancement Through the Eyes of the Population: Current Situation, Problems and Citizens’ Expectations for the Future

Since June 22 of this year, the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr” has begun conducting a nationwide sociological study on the topic “Employment, Working Conditions and Opportunities for Social Advancement Through the Eyes of the Population: Current Situation, Problems and Citizens’ Expectations for the Future.”

Today, providing the population with decent jobs, improving labor relations, protecting labor rights, and expanding opportunities for social mobility are among the important priorities of the state’s socio-economic policy. The changes taking place in various sectors of the economy, the emergence of new requirements in the labor market, the growing influence of digital technologies, and the increasing demand for human capital require the regular study of public opinion in these areas. In this regard, the present study is aimed at identifying the population’s attitude toward the current situation in the field of employment, working conditions, and opportunities for social advancement in society.

The main purpose of the study is to examine the views, assessments, and expectations of the population regarding the labor market, working conditions, and social mobility, to identify pressing problems in this area, and to analyze public opinion on ways to address them.

During the survey, citizens’ assessments of the employment situation in the country, their views on the most important problems in the labor sphere, effective methods of job searching, knowledge and skills most in demand in the labor market, as well as factors that play a decisive role in choosing a workplace will be studied. In addition, public opinion will be analyzed regarding the factors influencing promotion and career advancement, sectors with high potential for ensuring employment, and industries that are considered the most promising in the future.

The study also covers issues related to labor rights. In particular, the most common forms of labor rights violations, the level of citizens’ awareness of how to protect their rights, the practice of filing appeals in cases of rights violations, and the obstacles encountered in this process will be examined. Along with this, the proposals and opinions of the population on further improving labor relations and strengthening the legal protection of employees will also be analyzed.

One of the important areas of the study is the assessment of social elevators and opportunities for social advancement in society. Based on the opinions of survey participants, the study will examine the factors that contribute to professional, career, and social growth; the importance of education, professional skills, diligence, entrepreneurship, digital skills, and other resources in achieving success; as well as the key aspects of ensuring equal opportunities for citizens.
