INVESTMENT AND DEVELOPMENT: TIIF 2026 DEMONSTRATES THE ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES OF NEW UZBEKISTAN

Today, investment is regarded as one of the key factors in ensuring sustainable economic growth, creating new jobs, developing regions, and improving the well-being of the population. From this perspective, the 5th anniversary Tashkent      International Investment Forum, taking place on June 16–19, 2026, in Tashkent, serves as an important international platform for demonstrating the country’s investment potential, expanding international economic cooperation, and promoting the economic development strategy of New Uzbekistan. The Forum is recognized as one of the leading investment platforms in Central Asia.

The economic reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years, privatization processes, industrial modernization, transformation of the energy sector, and measures aimed at improving the investment environment are strengthening the country’s position in the international investment market. The Tashkent International Investment Forum serves as an important dialogue platform for presenting these changes to the international business community.

The results of studies conducted by the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr,” aimed at examining the socio-economic reforms being implemented in the country, the economic expectations of the population, and citizens’ attitudes toward development processes, show that the population views economic growth, job creation, support for entrepreneurship, and the attraction of investment as important conditions for the country’s development. In public opinion, the practical effect of economic reforms is primarily associated with positive changes in employment, income, and quality of life.

From a sociological perspective, investment is not limited solely to economic indicators. It also manifests itself as an important social factor that shapes confidence in the future, social optimism, and a sense of involvement in the country’s development among the population. In international practice, when assessing investment attractiveness, social stability, institutional trust, and public support are considered important criteria alongside macroeconomic stability.

The significance of the Tashkent International Investment Forum is reflected precisely in these aspects. The Forum creates new opportunities for economic cooperation by ensuring direct dialogue between government bodies, international financial institutions, sovereign wealth funds, transnational companies, and investors. Thousands of participants, international financial organizations, and investors from various countries around the world are expected to take part in the 2026 Forum.

The analysis shows that the areas discussed within the framework of the Forum cover the country’s priority economic sectors. In particular, investment projects are presented in the fields of renewable energy, infrastructure, industry, the digital economy, logistics, the agro-industrial complex, and high technologies. This contributes to the cross-sectoral diversification of investment and the formation of new points of economic growth.

From the perspective of the “Ijtimoiy Fikr” Center, the social effectiveness of investment processes is assessed primarily by their impact on the well-being of the population. The launch of new enterprises, job creation, improvement of regional infrastructure, and expansion of labor market opportunities have a direct impact on public sentiment and the economic activity of the population.

In this sense, the Tashkent International Investment Forum is important not only as a platform for economic cooperation, but also as a strategic platform that helps define the prospects for the country’s social development. The new partnerships and investment agreements formed within the framework of the Forum are important because they contribute to Uzbekistan’s sustainable economic growth, increased competitiveness, and improved well-being of the population.

Today, the Tashkent International Investment Forum is recognized as an important platform demonstrating the country’s commitment to the principles of an open economy, its consistent policy of creating a favorable environment for investment, and Uzbekistan’s growing authority in the international economic arena. Its outcomes are of great importance for the long-term development of the national economy and social progress.
