“30 DAYS — FIGHTING HUMAN TRAFFICKING TOGETHER”

On 29 June 2026, the Republican Social and Information Center “Istiqbolli Avlod” hosted a national event marking the launch of the month-long campaign “30 Days — Fighting Human Trafficking Together”, organised in connection with the World Day against Trafficking in Persons, observed on 30 July. The event brought together representatives of government agencies, international organisations, non-governmental non-profit organisations, and specialists working in this field. It was organised at the initiative of the Subcommission on Combating Trafficking in Persons.

The main objectives of the event were to prevent human trafficking in the country, raise public legal awareness, ensure the social protection of at-risk groups, further strengthen cooperation among government agencies, civil society institutions, and international organisations, and identify the priority activities to be implemented during the campaign.

The event was opened by Aziz Khamzaev, Executive Secretary of the Subcommission on Combating Trafficking in Persons. Nodira Karimova, Director of the Republican Social and Information Center “Istiqbolli Avlod”, and Ksenia Ryzhkova, Head of the Migrant Protection and Assistance Unit at the Tashkent Office of the International Organization for Migration, delivered presentations on ongoing activities in this field, mechanisms of international cooperation, and initiatives aimed at raising public legal awareness. During the event, participants were provided with detailed information on the campaign’s action plan and implementation mechanisms.

Umida Khalikova, Head of the Department of Field Research and Data Quality Control at the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr”, also took part in the event.

Particular attention was drawn to the importance of systematically studying public opinion, assessing the level of public awareness, identifying risk factors, and supporting preventive measures with scientifically grounded sociological data in order to implement effective state policy in the field of combating trafficking in persons. Such approaches are of considerable scientific and practical importance for improving the effectiveness of decisions made in this area, enhancing the legal culture of the population, and refining targeted prevention mechanisms.

At the conclusion of the event, participants exchanged views on the consistent nationwide implementation of awareness-raising, preventive, informational, and educational activities within the framework of the “30 Days — Fighting Human Trafficking Together” campaign, based on cooperation among government agencies, international organisations, and civil society institutions.
