COOPERATION BETWEEN GOVERNMENTAL AND NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS IN THE FIELD OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND INTERESTS

The “Civil Society Week” is continuing. Today, on the third day of the Week, a national forum entitled “Cooperation between Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations in the Field of Human Rights and Interests” was held at the Palace of Youth Creativity. The event brought together representatives of international organizations, government agencies, civil society institutions, the expert community, and the media.

The Forum featured substantive discussions aimed at ensuring human rights, raising legal awareness, and expanding public participation. The opening ceremony included remarks by Akmal Saidov, Director of the National Human Rights Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Zulaykho Makhkamova, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Committee on Family and Women; Sabine Mahl, UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan; Sergey Sezov, Deputy Project Coordinator of the OSCE in Uzbekistan; and Natalia Neumann, Chairperson of the German KUNA e.V. Association.

N. Kh Rakhimova, Director of the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr,” and M. Sh. Seitov, Deputy Director of the Center for Scientific Affairs, also took part in this significant event. They shared practical views on the importance of cooperation between civil society institutions and government bodies, as well as on the role of public opinion in ensuring human rights.

The Forum program included presentations, video screenings, a memorandum-signing ceremony, thematic sessions, and open discussions. In addition, an exhibition of products made by persons with disabilities, charitable events, and an award ceremony for the winners of the “Heroes Among Us” project were organized.

The event, held within the framework of “Civil Society Week,” contributes to the protection of human rights, the strengthening of civil society institutions, and the further development of cooperation between the state and the public.
