The first issue of the scientific journal “Ijtimoiy fikr. Inson huquqlari” for 2025 has been published.This issue features scholarly articles dedicated to the analysis of social processes, human rights, and inclusive development in Uzbekistan. The publications examine the country’s societal transformations based on empirical data, sociological research, and modern scientific approaches. The articles explore issues such as public perception of state policies, the activation of civil society actors, and the provision of social justice. The journal includes research articles authored by Uzbek professors, scientists, researchers, and specialists in the field.
One of the featured articles is by Nigina Rakhimova, Director of the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr,” titled “Significant Events of 2024 in the Focus of Public Opinion” (based on the 2024 results of the Center’s activities). This article serves as a methodological example of how social dynamics in the country can be monitored through public opinion. Based on sociological survey data, the author analyzes how citizens assess state policies, their level of trust in key social institutions, and their disciplined and rational attitudes toward the future. Public opinion is presented as a scientifically grounded mechanism of dialogue between state governance and civil society, reflecting the emergence of society as a political subject.
Another article featured in the journal is by Shukhrat Turdikulov, titled “Youth is the driving force of civil society against corruption.” The article attempts to explore youth participation in anti-corruption efforts from a new methodological and conceptual perspective. The author analyzes the moral, legal, and institutional activity of youth within the framework of national strategy. Youth engagement in media literacy, digital initiatives, and public oversight is considered a factor that strengthens state policies on openness and accountability. This approach scientifically substantiates the crucial role of youth in building anti-corruption immunity. The article also emphasizes the connection between youth’s social capital and civic responsibility. In addition, it thoroughly analyzes the reforms, laws, presidential decrees, and resolutions aimed at combating corruption, along with efforts to enhance legal awareness among young people and promote their intolerance toward corruption.
Zarina Uzakova’s research titled “The role of digital inclusion in the development of social capital of people with disabilities” focuses on the role of digital technologies in ensuring social equality. The author views digital inclusion as an integral part of human rights and seeks to thoroughly analyze the regulatory, infrastructural, and platform-related conditions necessary for the participation of persons with disabilities in the digital environment. The article introduces the concept of “digital social capital” into scientific discourse and substantiates its importance in ensuring full civic participation. Uzakova also analyzes the role of state policy in this process, the institutional formation of an inclusive approach, and the mechanisms for promoting digital rights.
The journal also presents articles by researchers in the fields of sociology, history, economics, and law, all collectively aimed at ensuring human rights, encouraging active civic engagement, and implementing inclusive policies in the modern digital environment. All publications reflect contemporary interpretations of social stability, environmental culture, and international processes. Each article reveals pressing aspects of the formation of public consciousness and thinking.
