CURRENT ISSUES OF DEMOCRATIZATION, HUMAN RIGHTS, AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS DISCUSSED IN TASHKENT

A scientific and educational event was held in Tashkent to present the journal Democratization and Human Rights, published by the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights. The event brought together representatives of the academic community, experts, and specialized professionals to discuss contemporary democratic processes, issues of human rights protection, and the development of public institutions.

The opening remarks were delivered by the Chairman of the journal’s Editorial Board, Academician Akmal Kholmatovich Saidov. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of such scientific and educational platforms for strengthening democratic values, enhancing the human rights culture in society, and expanding the use of scientific and analytical approaches in addressing pressing social issues.

Particular attention during the event was paid to the role of public opinion in societal development and in strengthening effective dialogue between the state and citizens. A presentation was delivered by Nigina Khayrullayevna Rakhimova, Director of the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr.” She noted that the systematic study of public opinion contributes to strengthening public trust, ensuring social stability, and improving the effectiveness of decision-making processes.

During the event, participants also discussed the implementation of international human rights standards into national practice, the enhancement of legal culture, as well as the development of legal awareness among young people. The approaches and analytical assessments presented during the scientific dialogue made it possible to identify a number of pressing tasks and areas for further work.

The event became an important platform for professional exchange of views and once again confirmed the strong demand for scientific and expert dialogue on issues of democratization, human rights, and social development.
