35 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE: SOCIETY’S VIEW OF THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

(Based on the results of a public opinion survey)

On September 1, 1991, a new independent state — the Republic of Uzbekistan — appeared on the political map of the world. This day marked the beginning of profound historical transformations, during which the people of Uzbekistan, drawing on their rich historical and cultural heritage, confidently embarked on the path of building a modern and dynamically developing state.

Over these years, our country has implemented large-scale transformations and strengthened the foundations of statehood, consolidating its status as a sovereign, democratic, rule-of-law and secular state in which human rights and freedoms are recognized as the highest value.
