Dear Colleagues! Congratulations on Sociologist’s Day!
International Sociologists' Day has a long history. It was first proposed by the International Sociological Association in 1950 and has since been celebrated annually on February 20. Later, in 1999, the Russian Sociological Association established Sociologist's Day on November 14, marking the anniversary of the founding of the Higher School of Social Sciences in Paris in 1901. Under its guidance, one of the first sociology faculties in the world was created.
Sociologists celebrate their professional holiday on this day not only in Russia but also in several CIS countries. From that moment, the professional community began to officially recognize this day, emphasizing the importance of sociology as a science that plays a key role in understanding society's social structure and development. The holiday was established to acknowledge sociology’s contribution to the study of social processes and the resolution of pressing global issues.
Sociologist's Day has become a symbol of solidarity among professionals who, through scientific research, strive to improve and strengthen relationships with the public. Today, sociology is an essential science that studies the dynamics of social processes, cultural and political changes, and social interactions and issues. As sociologists, we play not only a scientific but also a practical role in addressing social issues at the level of individual communities as well as on a global scale.
On behalf of the employees of the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion "Ijtimoiy Fikr" we congratulate all sociologists on this significant occasion! We wish you success in your scientific endeavors, new professional achievements, and inspiration for implementing large-scale projects. May your research contribute not only to the development of sociology but also to positive changes in society. May our scientific work help make the world more harmonious and science more accurate and aligned with modern demands. Happy holiday, dear sociologists!
