“CITIZENS’ ASSESSMENT OF THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION IN UZBEKISTAN”
In recent years, Uzbekistan’s education system has been undergoing a stage of profound reforms and fundamental transformations. The construction of new schools, the introduction of modern curricula, the professional development of teachers, and the integration of higher education into the international arena are all recognized as important factors of national development. However, the key question is how these processes are perceived by society and what real results they bring in practice.
It is with this purpose that the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr” has launched its latest sociological research on the topic “Citizens’ Assessment of the Quality of Education in Uzbekistan.” The main objective of the survey is to examine how the population evaluates the reforms being implemented at all levels of the education system, as well as to identify public opinion and perspectives.
The questionnaire covers preschool, school, and higher education. In preschool education, the focus is on the material and technical base of kindergartens, the qualifications of educators, nutrition, and safety; in school education — class sizes, teacher preparedness, availability of textbooks and laboratory equipment, and career guidance opportunities; in higher education — transparency of the admission process, conditions for students, and the alignment of education with labor market demands.
The study is conducted with the participation of citizens of different social groups and ages. Respondents’ answers are collected anonymously and voluntarily, and the results will be summarized on a scientific basis. In this way, public opinion will serve as a reliable criterion for evaluating the effectiveness of educational reforms.
The scientific and practical significance of the research lies in its ability to identify citizens’ attitudes and social views, and to compare them with the activities of government bodies and sector specialists. The most important aspect is that citizens’ opinions and suggestions will become a key roadmap for the further proper direction of education system development and the effective implementation of reforms.
