The Head of the Press Service of the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion “Ijtimoiy Fikr”, Dildora Olimjonovna Akhmedova, took part as an expert in the program “Munosabat” on the “Uzbekistan” TV channel.
The main question discussed in the program — “Why are children forced to attend tutoring classes after school?” — is highly relevant today not only for parents but also for all segments of society.
Sociological studies show that the demand for additional education is determined by a number of socio-economic factors, namely: society’s aspiration to improve the quality of knowledge in general education schools, the strong social demand from parents to prepare their children for admission to higher educational institutions, as well as the need to acquire additional knowledge and skills in order to be competitive in the modern labor market.
According to the results of public opinion research, the majority of the population evaluates additional education as a positive factor for the development of children. At the same time, a number of its negative consequences are also observed: the increase in the financial burden on families, the disruption of the principle of equal opportunities in the education system, negative effects on children’s health, their psycho-emotional state, and the process of socialization.
In the “Munosabat” program, with the participation of specialists, parents, and public representatives, both the positive and negative aspects of additional education were analyzed. Particular attention was paid to its importance in improving the quality of knowledge among young people, as well as its alignment with the priority directions of state educational policy.
