RECOGNITION

On August 26 of this year, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan issued Decree No. PF-124 "On Measures for Further Improvement of the System of State Support for Civil Society Institutions."

This Decree, aimed at implementing the new edition of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the "Uzbekistan — 2030" Strategy, and the Concept for the Development of Civil Society for 2021–2025, defines the main directions of state support for civil society institutions. It seeks to create additional conditions to enhance the transparency of the system based on principles of fair competition and to improve the effectiveness of socially beneficial programs. A number of initiatives proposed by various organizations were supported.

In particular, the proposal by the Legislative Chamber and Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Ministry of Justice, the Association of Mahallas of Uzbekistan, the "Yuksalish" Movement, the Center for Development Strategy, the Center for Analysis of Democratic Processes, the National Association of Non-Governmental Non-Profit Organizations of Uzbekistan, and the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan to hold an annual "Civil Society Week" during the first week of December was approved. Within the framework of this week, meetings and dialogues between representatives of non-governmental non-profit organizations and the leadership of the Oliy Majlis and the Ministry of Justice were organized, along with events to encourage civil society institutions, including awarding the badge of honor "For Contribution to the Development of Civil Society."

During events dedicated to this occasion, the badge of honor "For Contribution to the Development of Civil Society" was solemnly presented to a group of activists who have distinguished themselves in the development of civil society, the establishment of effective and constructive dialogue mechanisms between the state and civil society institutions, as well as the expansion of activities of non-governmental non-profit organizations in the development and implementation of socio-economic programs.

Among the awardees was the Director of the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion "Ijtimoiy Fikr," Doctor of Economics N.Kh. Rakhimova. This recognition became a source of pride and joy for the Center's team. The award was presented to Nigina Khayrullaevna Rakhimova by the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mavludakhon Khozhayeva.
