INTERNATIONAL ROUND TABLE ON "SOCIOLOGY AND MODERN SOCIETY" HELD IN MINSK

On February 20 of this year, an international round table on the topic "Sociology and Modern Society" was held in Minsk, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. This event held great scientific and practical significance for both the national and international sociological community, as it provided a platform for in-depth discussions on the role of sociological approaches in addressing social issues, as well as the future prospects of sociology as a discipline.

The event commenced with an exhibition of scientific publications from the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The exhibition showcased the scientific achievements of the institute over the years, their importance for the international community, and future research directions. This exhibition allowed participants to familiarize themselves with various academic works and their findings.

The round table was officially opened by Nikolai Leontiyevich Myslivets, Director of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Candidate of Sociological Sciences, and Associate Professor.

The event was held in two sessions:

First Session: "The Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus: History, Achievements, and Development Prospects"

During this session, participants listened to presentations on the establishment of the institute, its early research, key achievements, and its current role. It was noted that the institute has significantly contributed to the development of sociology, particularly in studying public opinion, addressing social issues, and shaping social policy.

As part of this session, Marat Karimovich Khadzhimukhamedov, First Deputy Director of the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion "Ijtimoiy Fikr", delivered a presentation on "Applied Sociological Research in Uzbekistan." In his speech, he discussed new methods of studying public opinion and their importance in sociological research.

Additionally, an agreement on scientific cooperation was signed between the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion "Ijtimoiy Fikr" and the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The round table left a lasting impression on all participants due to its engaging discussions, scientific dialogue, and promising proposals aimed at advancing the field of sociology in the future.
