On March 28 of the current year, a scientific and practical seminar was held in the conference hall of the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion "Ijtimoiy Fikr" with the participation of the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Democratic Institutions, Non-Governmental Organizations and Citizens' Self-Government Bodies, representatives of public organizations, non-governmental non-profit organizations, mass media, and faculty members of specialized higher educational institutions.
In the context of modern globalization, the role of scientific and practical research dedicated to studying and shaping public opinion continues to grow. This process is particularly relevant in the conditions of social, economic, cultural, and political transformations in Uzbek society. From this perspective, within the framework of the ongoing scientific and practical seminar organized by the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion "Ijtimoiy Fikr," a roundtable discussion was held on the topic of "Characteristics of Social Reality in Modern Uzbek Society."
The roundtable discussion was opened with a welcoming speech by Nigina Khayrullayevna Rakhimova, Director of the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion "Ijtimoiy Fikr." She emphasized that in today's world, public opinion serves not only as an indicator of social and political processes but also as an important criterion for evaluating the effectiveness of ongoing reforms. She wished success to the seminar participants.
Next, Gulrukh Anvarovna Agzamova, Member of Committee on Democratic Institutions, Non-Governmental Organizations and Citizens' Self-Government Bodies, delivered a speech. Modern Uzbekistan is a rapidly developing country where large-scale reforms are being implemented. In recent years, the government of Uzbekistan has taken important steps toward developing democratic institutions, strengthening civil society, combating corruption, and improving the socio-economic well-being of the population. These processes, in turn, have a direct impact on the formation and evolution of public opinion.
In particular, within the framework of the "New Uzbekistan" strategy under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, reforms based on the principles of human rights, openness, and transparency are being advanced. Citizens are becoming more active in public life, and thanks to social networks and mass media, a culture of open dialogue is emerging. These social and political changes are shaping new trends in public opinion.
The scientific study and analysis of these processes are of great relevance, and the research conducted by the Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion "Ijtimoiy Fikr" helps provide an in-depth examination of these issues.
